Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 1.28% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF), which rose 10.60% or 0.982 points to trade at 10.250 at the close. Meanwhile, Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP) added 4.11% or 0.104 points to end at 2.634 and Banca Mediolanum SpA (MI:BMED) was up 3.45% or 0.205 points to 6.145 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which fell 1.56% or 0.0710 points to trade at 4.4710 at the close. FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) declined 1.47% or 0.15 points to end at 10.05 and Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) was down 1.21% or 0.23 points to 18.85.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 211 to 150 and 34 ended unchanged.
Shares in Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.21% or 0.23 to 18.85.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.53% or 1.07 to $69.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.87% or 0.66 to hit $74.89 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.43% or 5.20 to trade at $1226.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.1707, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8916.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 94.24.
