Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.98%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediaset (MI:MS), which rose 2.44% or 0.080 points to trade at 3.354 at the close. Meanwhile, A2A (MI:A2) added 2.13% or 0.035 points to end at 1.674 and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) was up 2.03% or 0.388 points to 19.532 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Generali (MI:BGN), which fell 0.59% or 0.16 points to trade at 26.84 at the close. FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) declined 0.59% or 0.06 points to end at 9.85 and Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) was down 0.57% or 0.14 points to 24.36.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 197 to 130 and 38 ended unchanged.
Shares in A2A (MI:A2) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.13% or 0.035 to 1.674.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.04% or 0.03 to $68.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.59% or 0.44 to hit $74.44 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.33% or 4.40 to trade at $1318.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.37% to 1.2116, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.8700.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 91.30.
