Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.75%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 5.34% or 0.1950 points to trade at 3.8470 at the close. Meanwhile, Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 5.11% or 0.77 points to end at 15.85 and CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI) was up 2.83% or 0.254 points to 9.232 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Generali (MI:BGN), which fell 3.23% or 0.70 points to trade at 20.98 at the close. Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) declined 2.21% or 0.0720 points to end at 3.1870 and UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) was down 1.80% or 0.2540 points to 13.8760.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 198 to 165 and 28 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 3.26% or 2.30 to $72.83 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 2.08% or 1.58 to hit $77.72 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.27% or 3.40 to trade at $1256.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.54% to 1.1585, while EUR/GBP rose 0.07% to 0.8813.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.48% at 94.81.
