Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Technology and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.71% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK), which rose 4.89% or 0.43 points to trade at 9.34 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Generali (MI:BGN) added 2.91% or 0.80 points to end at 28.30 and Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) was up 2.27% or 0.240 points to 10.810 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER), which fell 1.87% or 0.42 points to trade at 22.02 at the close. A2A (MI:A2) declined 1.13% or 0.018 points to end at 1.573 and Mediaset (MI:MS) was down 0.84% or 0.028 points to 3.312.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 221 to 145 and 28 ended unchanged.
Shares in FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.89% or 0.43 to 9.34.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 1.51% or 0.93 to $62.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 1.18% or 0.80 to hit $68.58 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.58% or 7.70 to trade at $1312.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1923, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8820.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 92.30.
