Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemicals, Financials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI), which rose 3.03% or 0.0960 points to trade at 3.2690 at the close. Meanwhile, Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) added 2.77% or 0.222 points to end at 8.238 and Intesa Sanpaolo SpA (MI:ISP) was up 2.04% or 0.043 points to 2.171 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azimut Holding (MI:AZMT), which fell 1.24% or 0.17 points to trade at 13.52 at the close. Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC) declined 1.10% or 0.08 points to end at 6.86 and Prysmian (MI:PRY) was down 0.50% or 0.11 points to 22.11.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 222 to 139 and 29 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.46% or 0.32 to $70.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.68% or 0.53 to hit $78.17 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.22% or 2.60 to trade at $1207.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1618, while EUR/GBP rose 0.75% to 0.9020.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 95.06.
