Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Travel & Leisure and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 2.48% or 0.0900 points to trade at 3.7200 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) added 1.98% or 0.050 points to end at 2.580 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) was up 1.53% or 0.20 points to 13.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Italgas SpA (MI:IG), which fell 1.54% or 0.080 points to trade at 5.110 at the close. Banca Generali (MI:BGN) declined 1.45% or 0.41 points to end at 27.77 and Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI) was down 0.54% or 0.04 points to 6.39.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 196 to 162 and 26 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.22% or 0.13 to $58.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.12% or 0.08 to hit $64.64 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1270.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1868, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8878.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 92.91.
