Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Travel & Leisure, Telecoms and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.60%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT), which rose 2.90% or 0.0154 points to trade at 0.5472 at the close. Meanwhile, Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) added 2.31% or 0.68 points to end at 30.08 and Banca Generali (MI:BGN) was up 2.26% or 0.41 points to 18.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which fell 2.92% or 0.1050 points to trade at 3.4950 at the close. ENI (MI:ENI) declined 1.79% or 0.26 points to end at 14.06 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) was down 1.65% or 0.20 points to 11.62.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 215 to 136 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tenaris (MI:TENR) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.65% or 0.20 to 11.62.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 6.55% or 3.58 to $51.05 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 5.77% or 3.61 to hit $58.99 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.36% or 4.40 to trade at $1223.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.1334, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8843.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 96.822.
