Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF), which rose 3.06% or 0.76 points to trade at 25.62 at the close. Meanwhile, Telecom Italia (BIT:TLIT) added 2.96% or 0.01 points to end at 0.25 and Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI) was up 2.57% or 0.06 points to 2.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS), which fell 0.91% or 0.95 points to trade at 103.00 at the close. A2A SpA (BIT:A2) declined 0.87% or 0.02 points to end at 2.17 and Hera (BIT:HRA) was down 0.87% or 0.03 points to 3.42.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 279 to 236 and 52 ended unchanged.
Shares in Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.57% or 0.06 to 2.55.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 2.00% or 1.37 to $69.96 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.51% or 1.09 to hit $73.28 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.41% or 38.26 to trade at $2,756.66 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 106.23.
