Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Technology and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.49%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII), which rose 8.26% or 0.374 points to trade at 4.904 at the close. Meanwhile, Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI) added 5.89% or 0.1890 points to end at 3.4000 and Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) was up 3.50% or 0.1420 points to 4.1980 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC), which fell 2.31% or 0.17 points to trade at 7.10 at the close. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) declined 1.95% or 0.372 points to end at 18.744 and Snam (MI:SRG) was down 1.63% or 0.064 points to 3.867.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 199 to 153 and 37 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.17% or 2.19 to $71.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 3.15% or 2.36 to hit $77.21 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.11% or 1.40 to trade at $1312.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.14% to 1.1848, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.8740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 92.92.
