Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.47% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which rose 3.82% or 0.750 points to trade at 20.400 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Generali (MI:BGN) added 2.22% or 0.66 points to end at 30.34 and Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) was up 2.21% or 0.58 points to 26.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI), which fell 2.50% or 0.16 points to trade at 6.24 at the close. Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) declined 1.45% or 0.042 points to end at 2.850 and Snam (MI:SRG) was down 1.41% or 0.058 points to 4.044.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 184 to 180 and 20 ended unchanged.
Shares in Moncler SpA (MI:MONC) rose to all time highs; up 2.21% or 0.58 to 26.88.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.09% or 0.06 to $63.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.12% or 0.08 to hit $69.30 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.70% or 9.40 to trade at $1329.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.2239, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.8809.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.38% at 90.31.
