Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.41%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Bper Banca SpA (BIT:EMII), which rose 8.23% or 0.44 points to trade at 5.76 at the close. Meanwhile, Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (BIT:UNPI) added 4.57% or 0.50 points to end at 11.43 and Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:BPSI) was up 2.98% or 0.21 points to 7.09 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF), which fell 3.32% or 0.70 points to trade at 20.38 at the close. Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY) declined 1.82% or 1.20 points to end at 64.70 and ERG (BIT:ERG) was down 1.63% or 0.38 points to 22.94.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 255 to 230 and 52 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bper Banca SpA (BIT:EMII) rose to 5-year highs; rising 8.23% or 0.44 to 5.76. Shares in Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (BIT:UNPI) rose to 5-year highs; up 4.57% or 0.50 to 11.43.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.98% or 2.18 to $75.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 3.02% or 2.31 to hit $78.89 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.65% or 17.00 to trade at $2,643.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 102.71.
