Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemicals, Technology and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.33%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 4.60% or 0.1580 points to trade at 3.5920 at the close. Meanwhile, Tenaris (MI:TENR) added 2.36% or 0.27 points to end at 11.69 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was up 2.26% or 0.450 points to 20.360 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Italgas SpA (MI:IG), which fell 2.52% or 0.130 points to trade at 5.030 at the close. UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) declined 1.18% or 0.2000 points to end at 16.7100 and Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) was down 1.07% or 0.160 points to 14.740.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 207 to 166 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.26% or 0.450 to 20.360.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.22% or 0.12 to $54.02 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.08% or 0.05 to hit $60.18 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.55% or 7.00 to trade at $1278.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1636, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 94.44.
