Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Travel & Leisure, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Tenaris (MI:TENR), which rose 2.37% or 0.36 points to trade at 15.57 at the close. Meanwhile, Poste Italiane SpA (MI:PST) added 1.68% or 0.134 points to end at 8.106 and Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) was up 1.62% or 0.39 points to 24.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which fell 2.18% or 0.414 points to trade at 18.570 at the close. Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) declined 0.64% or 0.065 points to end at 10.065 and Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) was down 0.53% or 0.0044 points to 0.8182.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 201 to 151 and 32 ended unchanged.
Shares in Poste Italiane SpA (MI:PST) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.68% or 0.134 to 8.106.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.76% or 0.52 to $68.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.71% or 1.26 to hit $75.05 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.44% or 5.80 to trade at $1317.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.2095, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.8785.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 91.52.
