Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Industrials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Prysmian SpA (BIT:PRY), which rose 2.57% or 1.56 points to trade at 62.26 at the close. Meanwhile, Bper Banca SpA (BIT:EMII) added 1.98% or 0.12 points to end at 5.99 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) was up 1.85% or 0.10 points to 5.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI), which fell 4.38% or 1.12 points to trade at 24.43 at the close. Pirelli & C SPA (BIT:PIRC) declined 3.14% or 0.16 points to end at 4.97 and Hera (BIT:HRA) was down 1.70% or 0.06 points to 3.35.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 287 to 256 and 40 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bper Banca SpA (BIT:EMII) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.98% or 0.12 to 5.99. Shares in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.85% or 0.10 to 5.52.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.34% or 0.23 to $68.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.38% or 0.27 to hit $72.16 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.62% or 16.25 to trade at $2,590.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.52% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 106.35.
