Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which rose 2.81% or 0.450 points to trade at 16.440 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) added 2.21% or 0.425 points to end at 19.615 and Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) was up 2.13% or 0.43 points to 20.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT), which fell 2.89% or 0.0190 points to trade at 0.6394 at the close. Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) declined 2.58% or 0.066 points to end at 2.477 and Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) was down 2.02% or 0.172 points to 8.356.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 213 to 144 and 31 ended unchanged.
Shares in Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.89% or 0.0190 to 0.6394.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 3.63% or 2.47 to $70.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 2.35% or 1.75 to hit $76.30 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.49% or 6.20 to trade at $1262.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1667, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8812.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 94.21.
