Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Utilities and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.12% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Telecom Italia (BIT:TLIT), which rose 5.69% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) added 2.01% or 0.13 points to end at 6.80 and Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (BIT:UNPI) was up 1.94% or 0.23 points to 12.09 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Stellantis NV (BIT:STLAM), which fell 4.63% or 0.62 points to trade at 12.73 at the close. Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG) declined 4.40% or 0.44 points to end at 9.52 and Ferrari NV (BIT:RACE) was down 2.60% or 11.20 points to 420.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 323 to 203 and 46 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.01% or 0.13 to 6.80.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.56% or 1.11 to $70.18 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.93% or 0.69 to hit $73.80 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 5.31 to trade at $2,670.49 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.48% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 106.56.
