Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Travel & Leisure and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Bper Banca SpA (MI:EMII), which rose 4.34% or 0.184 points to trade at 4.424 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Generali (MI:BGN) added 2.43% or 0.70 points to end at 29.47 and FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) was up 2.07% or 0.17 points to 8.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which fell 6.82% or 1.380 points to trade at 18.860 at the close. Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) declined 1.75% or 1.65 points to end at 92.85 and Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI) was down 1.46% or 0.10 points to 6.42.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 186 to 181 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) rose to all time highs; rising 2.07% or 0.17 to 8.38.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.95% or 0.55 to $57.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.90% or 0.57 to hit $62.67 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.77% or 9.91 to trade at $1284.99 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1860, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.8826.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 93.09.
