Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB added 0.80%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Prysmian (MILAN:PRY), which rose 6.36% or 1.16 points to trade at 19.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MILAN:EMII) added 5.27% or 0.395 points to end at 7.890 and UBI Banca (MILAN:UBI) was up 5.01% or 0.345 points to 7.225 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tenaris (MILAN:TENR), which fell 3.52% or 0.49 points to trade at 13.42 at the close. Saipem (MILAN:SPMI) declined 2.35% or 0.29 points to end at 12.06 and Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER) was down 1.60% or 0.46 points to 28.32.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 253 to 228 and 5 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 2.17% or 1.32 to $59.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 2.06% or 1.40 to hit $66.38 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.69% or 8.20 to trade at $1182.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.67% to 1.1274, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.7405.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.61% at 94.76.
