Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials, Technology and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB gained 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Mediolanum (MILAN:MED), which rose 2.73% or 0.205 points to trade at 7.725 at the close. Meanwhile, Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT) added 2.46% or 0.65 points to end at 27.12 and Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MILAN:EMII) was up 1.97% or 0.145 points to 7.495 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Atlantia (MILAN:ATL), which fell 4.60% or 1.12 points to trade at 23.23 at the close. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MILAN:FCHA) declined 3.32% or 0.440 points to end at 12.800 and Buzzi Unicem (MILAN:BZU) was down 2.90% or 0.42 points to 14.08.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 284 to 198 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.23% or 0.74 to $61.14 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.85% or 0.57 to hit $68.09 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.35% or 4.20 to trade at $1189.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.34% to 1.1336, while EUR/GBP rose 1.02% to 0.7441.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.06% at 94.26.
