Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Travel & Leisure, Chemicals and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB added 0.04%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which rose 3.43% or 0.42 points to trade at 12.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Mediolanum (MILAN:MED) added 2.09% or 0.165 points to end at 8.060 and Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT) was up 1.92% or 0.54 points to 28.71 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MILAN:EMII), which fell 2.09% or 0.165 points to trade at 7.720 at the close. Telecom Italia (MILAN:TLIT) declined 1.79% or 0.019 points to end at 1.041 and Tod'S (MILAN:TOD) was down 1.42% or 1.20 points to 83.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 270 to 204 and 5 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.79% or 0.47 to $58.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.13% or 0.75 to hit $65.41 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.61% or 7.30 to trade at $1181.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.1147, while EUR/GBP fell 1.39% to 0.7151.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 95.14.
