Investing.com – Israel stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Communication, Insurance and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 fell 1.32% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the TA 35 were Newmed Energy LP (TASE:NWMDp), which rose 1.75% or 14.30 points to trade at 832.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Electra Ltd (TASE:ELTR) added 0.86% or 1,630.00 points to end at 191,630.00 and Tower Semiconductor Ltd (TASE:TSEM) was up 0.79% or 120.00 points to 15,360.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Shikun & Binui (TASE:SKBN), which fell 4.99% or 67.00 points to trade at 1,277.00 at the close. Harel (TASE:HARL) declined 3.46% or 117.00 points to end at 3,260.00 and Alony Hetz Properties and Investments Ltd (TASE:ALHE) was down 3.45% or 134.00 points to 3,752.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 384 to 94 and 29 ended unchanged.
Shares in Shikun & Binui (TASE:SKBN) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.99% or 67.00 to 1,277.00. Shares in Alony Hetz Properties and Investments Ltd (TASE:ALHE) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.45% or 134.00 to 3,752.00.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.98% or 1.47 to $72.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 1.66% or 1.32 to hit $78.03 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.70% or 12.55 to trade at $1,794.95 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.28% to 3.44, while EUR/ILS rose 0.70% to 3.61.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 105.06.
