Investing.com – Israel stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Biomed, Technology and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 lost 1.03%.
The best performers of the session on the TA 35 were OPC Energy Ltd (TASE:OPCE), which rose 2.62% or 92 points to trade at 3610 at the close. Meanwhile, Israel Discount Bank Ltd (TASE:DSCT) added 1.18% or 25 points to end at 2150 and Leumi (TASE:LUMI) was up 0.94% or 32 points to 3443 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ormat Technologies (TASE:ORA), which fell 5.42% or 1210 points to trade at 21120 at the close. Azrieli Group Ltd (TASE:AZRG) declined 3.80% or 1130 points to end at 28600 and Ashtrom Group Ltd (TASE:ASHG) was down 3.45% or 312 points to 8724.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 275 to 223 and 24 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ormat Technologies (TASE:ORA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.42% or 1210 to 21120.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.46% or 0.40 to $86.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.37% or 0.33 to hit $88.41 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 2.05% or 37.60 to trade at $1792.10 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.45% to 3.1934, while EUR/ILS fell 0.35% to 3.5600.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.82% at 97.195.
