Investing.com – Israel stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Biomed, Communication and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 declined 0.39% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the TA 35 were Tower Semiconductor Ltd (TA:TSEM), which rose 2.17% or 196 points to trade at 9211 at the close. Meanwhile, Elbit Systems Ltd (TA:ESLT) added 1.84% or 860 points to end at 47660 and Melisron (TA:MLSR) was up 1.73% or 320 points to 18800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TA:TEVA), which fell 6.50% or 462 points to trade at 6648 at the close. Delek Group (TA:DLEKG) declined 2.44% or 1720 points to end at 68680 and OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK) was down 1.79% or 41 points to 2251.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 294 to 115 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TA:TEVA) fell to 5-year lows; down 6.50% or 462 to 6648. Shares in Elbit Systems Ltd (TA:ESLT) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.84% or 860 to 47660. Shares in Delek Group (TA:DLEKG) fell to 52-week lows; down 2.44% or 1720 to 68680.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.24% or 0.12 to $49.27 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.23% or 0.12 to hit $52.25 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.47% or 5.89 to trade at $1258.81 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was down 0.21% to 3.6066, while EUR/ILS fell 0.61% to 4.2374.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 93.63.
