Investing.com – Israel stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Biomed and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 lost 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the TA 35 were OPKO Health Inc (TASE:OPK), which rose 8.91% or 144 points to trade at 1760 at the close. Meanwhile, Elbit Systems Ltd (TASE:ESLT) added 3.61% or 1590 points to end at 45590 and Azrieli Group Ltd (TASE:AZRG) was up 2.82% or 550 points to 20050 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Liveperson (TASE:LPSN), which fell 4.36% or 960 points to trade at 21080 at the close. Energix (TASE:ENRG) declined 4.15% or 55 points to end at 1269 and Energean Oil & Gas PLC (TASE:ENOG) was down 3.51% or 131 points to 3602.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 296 to 134 and 13 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.97% or 0.51 to $53.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.66% or 0.37 to hit $56.01 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 3.80 to trade at $1847.10 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.09% to 3.2655, while EUR/ILS fell 0.38% to 3.9517.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 90.573.
