Investing.com – Israel stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Biomed, Insurance and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 gained 0.25% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the TA 35 were Harel (TA:HARL), which rose 3.11% or 77 points to trade at 2555 at the close. Meanwhile, Phoenix Holdings Ltd (TA:PHOE1) added 1.96% or 39 points to end at 2031 and Israel Discount Bank Ltd (TA:DSCT) was up 1.84% or 23.0 points to 1273.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK), which fell 7.03% or 95 points to trade at 1257 at the close. Liveperson (TA:LPSN) declined 2.08% or 177 points to end at 8313 and Perrigo (TA:PRGO) was down 1.13% or 190 points to 16610.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 216 to 151 and 47 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 2.52% or 1.31 to $53.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 2.14% or 1.28 to hit $61.09 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.50% or 6.55 to trade at $1309.65 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.11% to 3.6774, while EUR/ILS rose 0.03% to 4.1979.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 95.532.
