Investing.com – Israel stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Biomed, Technology and Real Estate sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 gained 0.23% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the TA 35 were Melisron (TA:MLSR), which rose 2.25% or 360 points to trade at 16350 at the close. Meanwhile, Phoenix Holdings Ltd (TA:PHOE1) added 1.48% or 29 points to end at 1992 and Israel Discount Bank Ltd (TA:DSCT) was up 1.46% or 18.0 points to 1250.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Corp Ltd (TA:BEZQ), which fell 3.45% or 10.9 points to trade at 305.2 at the close. OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK) declined 1.67% or 23 points to end at 1352 and Poalim (TA:POLI) was down 0.62% or 15 points to 2420.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange by 187 to 170 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Corp Ltd (TA:BEZQ) fell to 5-year lows; falling 3.45% or 10.9 to 305.2.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 3.37% or 1.81 to $51.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 2.60% or 1.60 to hit $59.99 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.29% or 3.75 to trade at $1301.85 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.47% to 3.6777, while EUR/ILS rose 0.73% to 4.2054.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 95.382.
