HONG KONG, Dec 6 (Reuters) - Hong Kong stocks fell on Monday as a mild selloff in heavyweight financial stocks into the close offset gains in energy counters and pulled the benchmark index into negative territory.
The Hang Seng Index <.HSI> closed 0.36 percent lower at 23,237.69. The index had ended the morning up 0.6 percent.
Turnover was muted at HK$75 billion, the lowest in five sessions, suggesting investors were taking a cautious view heading into year-end.
