Electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging network operator EVCS announced reaching a major milestone Wednesday in its collaboration with Hertz Global Holdings (OTC:HTZGQ) Inc (NASDAQ:HTZ).
The network operator announced in a press release that Hertz rideshare renters have reached more than two million miles of EV charging on the EVCS network.
Earlier this year, EVCS and Hertz introduced their pilot EV charging program tailored for rideshare EV renters. This initiative offers Hertz rideshare users unique access to three distinct weekly charging plans under the Hertz + EVCS partnership. Presently, the program is accessible at 22 Hertz rideshare spots situated across California, encompassing vital urban regions like Los Angeles County, Orange County, Sacramento, Fresno, Bakersfield, and Stockton. Operating on entirely renewable energy, this EV charging effort has already led to a reduction of over 500 metric tons of CO2 emissions.
"We're excited to collaborate with EVCS on providing affordable and convenient EV charging solutions to our rideshare renters, which is one of our fastest-growing customer segments," said Jayesh Patel, Senior Vice President of Shared Mobility and Third Party Fleet at Hertz.
"EVCS' partnership with Hertz is a great success story for rideshare electrification," said Karim Farhat, EVCS Chief Commercial Officer.
Shares of HTZ are up 0.99% in afternoon trading Wednesday.
