Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Basic Resources and Household sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 1.94%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 9.36% or 0.028 points to trade at 0.327 at the close. Meanwhile, Iaso (AT:IASr) added 3.90% or 0.015 points to end at 0.400 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) was up 2.53% or 0.040 points to 1.620 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which fell 9.17% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.116 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 6.90% or 0.010 points to end at 0.135 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was down 5.74% or 0.007 points to 0.115.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 65 to 33 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.53% or 0.040 to 1.620.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.26% or 3.55 to $1345.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.80% or 1.69 to hit $46.17 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.70% or 1.72 to trade at $48.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1265, while EUR/GBP rose 0.22% to 0.8686.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.31% at 95.11.
