Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Basic Resources and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr), which rose 5.26% or 0.006 points to trade at 0.120 at the close. Meanwhile, Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 3.23% or 0.004 points to end at 0.128 and Hellenic Petroleum SA (AT:HEPr) was up 3.09% or 0.230 points to 7.680 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which fell 7.31% or 0.016 points to trade at 0.203 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 6.05% or 0.0150 points to end at 0.2400 and Terna Energy (AT:TENr) was down 3.19% or 0.110 points to 3.340.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 51 to 46 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hellenic Petroleum SA (AT:HEPr) rose to 3-years highs; rising 3.09% or 0.230 to 7.680.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.48% or 18.92 to $1256.98 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.63% or 0.28 to hit $44.45 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.36% or 0.17 to trade at $46.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.54% to 1.1157, while EUR/GBP fell 0.69% to 0.8739.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.50% at 97.39.
