Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Household, Retail and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 9.57% or 0.0180 points to trade at 0.2060 at the close. Meanwhile, Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) added 3.57% or 0.300 points to end at 8.700 and Iaso (AT:IASr) was up 2.95% or 0.013 points to 0.453 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which fell 6.54% or 0.0600 points to trade at 0.8570 at the close. Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) declined 3.36% or 0.004 points to end at 0.115 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was down 2.96% or 0.005 points to 0.165.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 51 to 36 and 24 ended unchanged.
Shares in Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.57% or 0.300 to 8.700.
Gold for December delivery was up 1.09% or 13.95 to $1288.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.58% or 0.26 to hit $44.72 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.35 to trade at $45.69 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.66% to 1.0953, while EUR/GBP fell 1.38% to 0.8781.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 98.23.
