The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which rose 8.05% or 0.216 points to trade at 2.900 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) added 5.56% or 0.0500 points to end at 0.9500 and Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) was up 5.20% or 0.015 points to 0.293 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aegean Airlines (AT:AGNr), which fell 5.95% or 0.55 points to trade at 8.70 at the close. Public Power (AT:DEHr) declined 0.90% or 0.02 points to end at 2.20 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) was down 1.02% or 0.001 points to 0.136.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 71 to 39 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.05% or 0.60 to $1291.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.53% or 0.38 to hit $72.73 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.35% or 1.07 to trade at $80.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.1780, while EUR/GBP fell 0.10% to 0.8773.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 93.50.
