Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Telecoms and Travel sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 3.10% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Elastron SA (AT:ELSRr), which rose 2.59% or 0.0350 points to trade at 1.3850 at the close. Meanwhile, Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) added 1.38% or 0.0800 points to end at 5.8600 and Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) was up 0.71% or 0.100 points to 14.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which fell 8.24% or 0.208 points to trade at 2.316 at the close. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) declined 7.68% or 0.137 points to end at 1.648 and Intralot (AT:INLr) was down 7.51% or 0.058 points to 0.714.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 78 to 20 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.30% or 15.80 to $1203.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.40% or 0.27 to hit $67.36 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.19% or 0.14 to trade at $72.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.01% to 1.1412, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8935.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 96.14.
