Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Retail and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 2.61% to hit a new 52-week low.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr), which rose 2.93% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.169 at the close. Meanwhile, Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) added 1.96% or 0.040 points to end at 2.080 and Athens Water (AT:EYDr) was up 1.17% or 0.06 points to 5.18 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which fell 11.58% or 0.0690 points to trade at 0.5270 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 10.95% or 0.150 points to end at 1.220 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) was down 5.69% or 0.004 points to 0.063.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 85 to 15 and 18 ended unchanged.

Shares in Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) fell to 52-week lows; down 11.58% or 0.0690 to 0.5270. Shares in Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) fell to 5-year lows; falling 10.95% or 0.150 to 1.220. Shares in Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.69% or 0.004 to 0.063.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.37% or 16.50 to $1189.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.54% or 0.40 to hit $73.94 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.64 to trade at $83.52 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.43% to 1.1475, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8788.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 95.56.
