Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Basic Resources and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 2.59%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 4.33% or 0.086 points to trade at 2.070 at the close. Meanwhile, Reds (AT:CAMr) added 2.25% or 0.020 points to end at 0.910 and Athens Water (AT:EYDr) was up 1.64% or 0.09 points to 5.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr), which fell 29.95% or 0.055 points to trade at 0.128 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 18.35% or 0.0156 points to end at 0.0680 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) was down 8.20% or 0.009 points to 0.101.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 89 to 19 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr) fell to 52-week lows; down 29.95% or 0.055 to 0.128. Shares in Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) fell to 52-week lows; falling 18.35% or 0.0156 to 0.0680.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.37% or 4.60 to $1251.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.02% or 0.74 to hit $73.50 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.10% or 0.08 to trade at $77.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.1578, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.8843.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 94.91.
