Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Chemicals and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 2.37% to hit a new 6-months low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 9.87% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.167 at the close. Meanwhile, Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) added 9.09% or 0.5000 points to end at 6.0000 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was up 8.89% or 0.680 points to 8.330 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr), which fell 9.46% or 0.140 points to trade at 1.340 at the close. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 8.57% or 0.0120 points to end at 0.1280 and Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) was down 8.00% or 0.004 points to 0.046.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 80 to 28 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) fell to 52-week lows; losing 9.46% or 0.140 to 1.340. Shares in Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) rose to 3-years highs; up 9.09% or 0.5000 to 6.0000. Shares in Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) fell to 52-week lows; losing 8.57% or 0.0120 to 0.1280.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.21% or 2.71 to $1280.41 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.29% or 0.16 to hit $55.49 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.13% or 0.08 to trade at $61.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1772, while EUR/GBP fell 0.40% to 0.8916.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.77.
