Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Retail and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 2.35%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 1.26% or 0.025 points to trade at 2.010 at the close. Meanwhile, Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) added 0.90% or 0.100 points to end at 11.200 and ThesKi Port (AT:OLTr) was up 0.69% or 0.20 points to 29.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which fell 6.98% or 0.045 points to trade at 0.600 at the close. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) declined 6.80% or 0.023 points to end at 0.315 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was down 5.82% or 0.022 points to 0.356.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 105 to 17 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Halcor (AT:XAKO) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.26% or 0.025 to 2.010. Shares in Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) rose to all time highs; gaining 0.90% or 0.100 to 11.200.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.02% or 0.30 to $1337.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.57% or 0.37 to hit $65.08 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.39% or 0.27 to trade at $68.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.2416, while EUR/GBP rose 0.46% to 0.8863.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 89.35.
