Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Retail, Banking and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 2.04% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 5.00% or 0.0090 points to trade at 0.1925 at the close. Meanwhile, Intralot (AT:INLr) added 2.87% or 0.026 points to end at 0.933 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) was up 2.49% or 0.010 points to 0.412 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which fell 13.07% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.133 at the close. Folli Follie (AT:HDFr) declined 10.51% or 0.84 points to end at 7.15 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) was down 7.59% or 0.024 points to 0.292.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 72 to 40 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.86% or 24.50 to $1293.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.14% or 0.10 to hit $70.86 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.82% or 0.64 to trade at $78.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.60% to 1.1856, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8787.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 93.09.
