Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 1.36% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were K.L.M. (AT:KLUr), which rose 2.18% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.562 at the close. Meanwhile, Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) added 2.14% or 0.42 points to end at 20.02 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was up 1.01% or 0.010 points to 1.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elastron SA (AT:ELSRr), which fell 6.56% or 0.0800 points to trade at 1.1400 at the close. National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr) declined 5.86% or 0.065 points to end at 1.045 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was down 5.27% or 0.054 points to 0.970.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 84 to 18 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.86% or 0.065 to 1.045. Shares in Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) fell to 5-year lows; down 5.27% or 0.054 to 0.970.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.20% or 2.50 to $1223.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.62% or 0.35 to hit $56.81 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.37% or 0.25 to trade at $66.51 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.1452, while EUR/GBP rose 0.03% to 0.8904.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 96.05.
