Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Construction, Telecoms and Travel sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 1.24%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 20.69% or 0.0120 points to trade at 0.0700 at the close. Meanwhile, Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr) added 12.60% or 0.016 points to end at 0.143 and Terna Energy (AT:TENr) was up 4.06% or 0.200 points to 5.130 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which fell 4.85% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.098 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 3.77% or 0.110 points to end at 2.810 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was down 3.65% or 0.050 points to 1.320.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 65 to 37 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.57% or 7.10 to $1247.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.54% or 0.40 to hit $73.75 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.72% or 1.36 to trade at $77.87 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.78% to 1.1593, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8838.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.69% at 94.88.
