Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Travel, Media and Retail sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 1.06%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr), which rose 4.23% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.167 at the close. Meanwhile, Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) added 3.87% or 0.80 points to end at 21.45 and Mytilineos Holdings SA (AT:MYTr) was up 2.11% or 0.160 points to 7.730 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which fell 4.87% or 0.2100 points to trade at 4.1000 at the close. Kekrops SA (AT:KEKr) declined 4.73% or 0.0700 points to end at 1.4100 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) was down 4.57% or 0.054 points to 1.128.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 70 to 36 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.13% or 1.60 to $1250.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 4.26% or 2.14 to hit $48.06 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 3.10% or 1.85 to trade at $57.76 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1361, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8992.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 96.535.
