Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Telecoms and Food sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 1.05%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr), which rose 4.11% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.266 at the close. Meanwhile, Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) added 2.19% or 0.030 points to end at 1.400 and Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) was up 1.85% or 0.34 points to 18.68 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH), which fell 5.83% or 0.185 points to trade at 2.990 at the close. Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:CENEr) declined 4.76% or 0.0580 points to end at 1.1600 and Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) was down 4.57% or 0.080 points to 1.670.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 77 to 33 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.09% or 1.20 to $1303.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.60% or 1.05 to hit $64.47 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.74% or 0.56 to trade at $74.82 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.51% to 1.1773, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.8768.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 93.56.
