Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.97%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which rose 4.30% or 0.06 points to trade at 1.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) added 2.01% or 0.30 points to end at 15.20 and Gr Sarantis SA (AT:SRSr) was up 2.00% or 0.22 points to 11.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr), which fell 5.00% or 0.17 points to trade at 3.23 at the close. National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr) declined 3.10% or 0.25 points to end at 7.70 and Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) was down 2.72% or 0.16 points to 5.73.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 76 to 45 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.21% or 4.95 to $2,333.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $83.38 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.17% or 0.15 to trade at $86.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 105.45.
