Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.91%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Titan Cement International SA (AT:TITCr), which rose 3.41% or 1.05 points to trade at 31.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) added 1.05% or 0.26 points to end at 24.98 and Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr) was up 0.98% or 0.12 points to 12.32 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Alumil (AT:ALMr), which fell 4.06% or 0.13 points to trade at 2.95 at the close. Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) declined 3.30% or 0.06 points to end at 1.70 and Cars Motorcycles and Marine Engine Trade and Import Company SA (AT:MTDr) was down 3.00% or 0.09 points to 2.74.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 93 to 24 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.06% or 25.45 to $2,432.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.42% or 0.32 to hit $77.28 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.27% or 0.22 to trade at $81.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 103.93.
