Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.85%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr), which rose 2.10% or 0.24 points to trade at 11.68 at the close. Meanwhile, Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR) added 2.07% or 0.30 points to end at 14.80 and Intrakat Technikon Kai Energeiakon Ergon AE (AT:INCr) was up 1.61% or 0.08 points to 5.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jumbo SA (AT:BABr), which fell 6.06% or 1.42 points to trade at 22.02 at the close. Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) declined 3.68% or 0.84 points to end at 21.96 and Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr) was down 3.49% or 0.08 points to 2.21.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 79 to 41 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) fell to 52-week lows; losing 6.06% or 1.42 to 22.02.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.95% or 23.00 to $2,455.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.12% or 0.84 to hit $76.07 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.74% or 0.58 to trade at $78.91 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.36% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 103.14.
