Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Profile Syst (AT:PRFr), which rose 6.53% or 0.33 points to trade at 5.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) added 1.37% or 0.24 points to end at 17.82 and Intralot (AT:INLr) was up 1.11% or 0.01 points to 1.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Public Power (AT:DEHr), which fell 2.58% or 0.30 points to trade at 11.32 at the close. Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA) declined 2.45% or 0.05 points to end at 1.83 and Viohalco SA (AT:VIOH) was down 2.45% or 0.15 points to 5.97.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 60 to 53 and 25 ended unchanged.
Shares in Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) rose to all time highs; rising 6.53% or 0.33 to 5.38. Shares in Gek Terna (AT:HRMr) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.37% or 0.24 to 17.82.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.07% or 25.95 to $2,454.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.00% or 0.81 to hit $80.03 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.88% or 0.75 to trade at $84.10 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 104.15.
