Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Retail, Household and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Hygeia (AT:HYGr), which rose 7.84% or 0.046 points to trade at 0.633 at the close. Meanwhile, Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) added 6.06% or 0.008 points to end at 0.147 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was up 4.69% or 0.500 points to 11.300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr), which fell 4.35% or 0.150 points to trade at 3.300 at the close. Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) declined 3.91% or 0.0340 points to end at 0.8350 and Select Textile (AT:EPIr) was down 3.85% or 0.008 points to 0.200.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 55 to 55 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) rose to 5-year highs; rising 4.69% or 0.500 to 11.300.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.73% or 9.80 to $1329.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.13% or 0.08 to hit $63.89 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.26% or 0.18 to trade at $69.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.2229, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 90.40.
