Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Travel and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Loulis Mills (AT:LOUr), which rose 5.66% or 0.12 points to trade at 2.24 at the close. Meanwhile, European Reliance General Insurance Co SA (AT:EREr) added 2.89% or 0.100 points to end at 3.570 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) was up 2.30% or 0.050 points to 2.220 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which fell 3.33% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.421 at the close. Kekrops SA (AT:KEKr) declined 3.10% or 0.0400 points to end at 1.2500 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) was down 2.99% or 0.008 points to 0.260.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 53 to 38 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.33% or 0.015 to 0.421.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.01% or 0.10 to $1221.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $66.95 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.17 to trade at $72.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.35% to 1.1569, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.8992.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 95.18.
