Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Austriacard Holdings AG (AT:ACAGr), which rose 4.26% or 0.23 points to trade at 5.63 at the close. Meanwhile, Interlife General Insurance Company SA (AT:INLIFr) added 4.05% or 0.18 points to end at 4.62 and Petros Petropoulos SA (AT:PTRr) was up 3.99% or 0.32 points to 8.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr), which fell 3.39% or 0.07 points to trade at 1.85 at the close. Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr) declined 2.65% or 0.03 points to end at 1.18 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) was down 2.12% or 0.01 points to 0.32.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 72 to 47 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.93% or 25.01 to $2,710.81 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.70% or 0.48 to hit $68.85 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.50% or 0.36 to trade at $72.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.49% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.33% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.47% at 106.32.
