Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Healthcare and Food sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 9.76% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.350 at the close. Meanwhile, Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) added 8.41% or 0.4500 points to end at 5.8500 and Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) was up 5.19% or 0.0070 points to 0.1420 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr), which fell 6.34% or 0.044 points to trade at 0.650 at the close. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) declined 4.47% or 0.011 points to end at 0.235 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) was down 3.33% or 0.050 points to 1.450.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 51 to 46 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Halcor (AT:XAKO) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 9.76% or 0.120 to 1.350.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.69% or 8.84 to $1290.54 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.71% or 0.97 to hit $57.80 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.77% or 0.48 to trade at $63.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.1797, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8878.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.54% at 93.38.
